I’m Shirley McDonagh and I host my ‘Lunch & Listen’ show on Thursdays from 12pm (midday) – 2pm.
My music choices are largely 60s,70s and 80s pop with some contemporary, Irish, country and even some show tunes thrown in. Friends and HRB’s colleagues request and introduce me to tunes and covers I might not otherwise have heard. I enjoy my ‘Cover stories’ debating whether the original or cover is best – though my decision is final!
Apart from reaching the patients, staff and visitors at both Bedford and now Luton & Dunstable Hospital, the magic of the internet means we can reach out to ‘Bedfordshire and beyond’. Promoting community events and charities and connecting those in need to services and advice that may help remains a particular passion of mine. That, and keeping radio live!
