I started in radio at RAF Cardington in March 1958, in addition to UK and overseas RAF stations, I spent 12 months as a program director on the Aden Forces Broadcasting Association and 3 years at BFBS.
Since March 1975 HRB has been my second home as my main hobby. I currently produce and present the following music programmes:
“Sounds of the big bands” featuring glen miller, billy may, ted heath, Syd Lawrence and many others USA and Europe from the ’30s to todays music scene.
“Sounds of swing” – a mixture of big bands backing the musical arrangements for male and female singers like frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee and many others that swing and sing along with standard popular songs.
“Late night music” is a lighter music mix which enables you to relax after what could have been a busy and active day—an element of smooth jazz with piano and instrumental music from across the world.
“Music from my personal collection”
A cross section of music from my vast collection covering the 1920s through to today including recorded shows, comedy and several concerts.

Matt Walker. I've always wanted to get into radio as I felt inspired by local Rock radios such as Absolute Radio, Kerrang and Zane Lowe. He used to broadcast on Radio 1. I enjoy the comfort of having my own space to chat, I also have a YouTube channel titled Walker Reviews. It's where I talk about Movies, video games, and music. Mark Kermode is a film critic I like to follow and I feel inspired by what he talks about.
