I’m Geoff Clark, I’m the current Treasurer of Bedfordshire Health Radio the charity that runs Hospital Radio Bedford. I’ve been involved with HRB since the late 1970’s but had a large gap in the middle due to work and family commitments, so have been involved for about 20 active years. As well as broadcasting I’ve been involved in the management of the organisation holding posts such as Secretary, Programmes Manager and Chairman of Trustees. From a broadcasting perspective I’ve produced music specific genres such as Motown Specials, but also news-based programs that keep the patients informed. I am particularly keen to promote program structure and content with members new to broadcasting, it’s important that we think about what the patient wants to listen to and not just play music we like.

I started in radio at RAF Cardington in March 1958, in addition to UK and overseas RAF stations, I spent 12 months as a program director on the Aden Forces Broadcasting Association and 3 years at BFBS. Since March 1975 HRB has been my second home as my main hobby.  I currently produce and present the following music […]

Three years ago, presenting on the radio was just a humble bucket list dream… until Mehtab spotted an advert for Bedfordshire Health Radio and thought, “Why not?” Fast forward to today—and there’s been no looking back since!
With a background in science teaching and an experienced psychotherapist, Mehtab is the voice behind Health Matters—a show dedicated to all things health, mental health, and wellbeing. Expect practical tips for managing stress and anxiety, alongside a weekly mix of something quizzy, something funny, and something uplifting.
But that’s not all—Mehtab is also a talented singer-songwriter, blending a passion for music with mental health advocacy. The show often features fascinating guests, including musicians who sometimes perform live on air (yes, really! 🎶).
Beyond the studio, Mehtab has released several singles on Spotify and iTunes to raise money for mental health causes, with music videos available on YouTube—so the good vibes don’t stop when the show ends.
✨ Thoughtful, inspiring, and always entertaining—Mehtab is here to make you feel good, one show at a time.

I was born in the East End of London growing up not too far from the Tottenham Hotspur Ground. I got interested in playing music at quite a young age and began spinning records (those circular plastic things) at various friends’ house parties. My work background was in the bus industry and training. My bus conductor Alan Honey teamed up with me as a mobile DJ creating the Jeff Allan Discos and we played all over London. At family and corporate events, I also had a spell with Piccadilly Radio which was a Pirate Station which was located in (a no longer there) block of flats in Edmonton. So, to today. I answered an ad on Facebook and started with HRB in 2019 and created a weekly show between 8 and 10am until the Pandemic appeared and then the studio was closed. However, thankfully we worked out we could continue providing Bedfordshire with music etc from home. I finally returned to the studio this year and have a different theme every weekday.  My role within HRB presently is the membership officer and enjoy meeting new would-be presenters and seeing them progress to perform on their own shows. Apart from the radio my other passions are being with my family and traveling.
